I’m Katie & I am the <3 of Always Matilda Photography.  I am so super excited to be a monthly contributor here at Dear Photographer, it is seriously such an honor!

I have three children.  Alex is just about 9, Eleanor is 7 and Jack is 2. Eleanor and I struggle sometimes.  We butt heads.  She is SO much like me it makes me laugh & it makes me cry.  I try my best to foster the things about her that I know will help her succeed in life & I {try to} gently coach away the things that have been a struggle for me – in hopes that she won’t struggle like I have.   My fears eat at me, though.  I have to be careful with this child.  She is my biggest challenge.  I have always been terrified that I will ruin my daughter & I will do anything to be sure that doesn’t happen.  So… in tribute to my daughter & in tribute to all of the beautiful women out there, I want to talk about us.  We are so many extraordinary things…

we are our sons’ first loves…

…and greatest comfort…

we are our daughters’ first role model…

we are sisters, mothers, daughters & granddaughters…

we nourish bodies and souls…

we play at the beach even when it’s cold…

we are regal & stunning & perfectly flawed…

we are the finest details in the every day…

we are the glue that binds, the hard cover to our family’s novel, the protectors, the nurturers, the life giving goddesses. <3
