Dear past self, I know that you had to start somewhere… so much to learn and overwhelmed not knowing where to start. Even then I knew I loved to document precious moments. I had little encouragement and knew that I would show everyone that I was capable to do this. I knew that l had to learn all I could and let my work speak for itself. You did well to tell yourself to never give up.

I know now to be better than who I was yesterday. I learned to find my own style and to always stick to it and follow my eye no matter what the rules maybe. The rules were meant to be broken in order to truly find greatness. My desire to learn is never-ending. I mastered manual in Jan of 2015 and haven’t looked back. I let light and the world around me guide me in my journey. My reason for doing what I love is because it’s the great gift I can give my children when I’m gone.

Dear future self, never give up on your passion and always remember why you started this journey to document our lives. Don’t forget to always do it for yourself first and foremost. I hope I see you with a camera in hand.


About the photographer:

A passionate hobbyist documenting our daily lives. I currently am residing in Kansas City, Mo and take on a few sessions a year. I started my photography journey shortly after my son was born in 2013 and it has been a beautiful ride thus far. I’ve always had an interest in photography and attempted to do it many times till in 2013 it took off in the directions I wanted. I’m a mother of 2 beautiful souls and a wife to an amazing man that I love deeply. I’m also the founder and lady behind the community photography blog Captivating Radiance. I love supporting my fellow photographers 🙂 Thank you all for your time and I hope I can give you a little inspiration!
