BE INSPIRED Session featuring Phyllis Meredith Photography

Is this personal work or client work?
Client work
What about this session was most memorable?
I loved creating these images so much! This was the second year in a row where we did the same session with the kids all in white at the meadow by my house. The first year Chloe was just a baby, here she is already 2 and so much more involved in the shoot. I would love to think that we will do a “Girls in White Dresses” shoot every year!

Where there any hurdles?
The first year we did this session all with digital images. This second year it was a mix of film and digital. For film, I was using a Microcord TLR, I found it a bit difficult to create images on film in this setting. The kids were moving around so much and that is really the point, spinning, twirling, dancing in the late sun. But it is so much easier to capture all of that motion with certainty with a digital camera and no tripod!
Your best photographer/session advice?
Have a plan, but go with the flow. You can and should plan out your sessions, but when working with small children, and everyone for that matter, you have to be ready to go with the flow and not lose confidence if things don’t seem to be going the way you had planned!

What gear was used to achieve these?
Nikon 610, Nikon F1.4 50mm lens
Microcord TLR medium format film camera, 400 speed Super XP2 film
