Is this personal work or client work?

This is a session I did for a client here in San Diego.

What about this session was most memorable?

When I walked in the hospital room, the lactation consultant was just finishing up with baby. She wrapped him up and asked dad “would you like to hold him?” To which he replied, “of course I do, you don’t even have to ask.” New dads sometimes have a twinkle in their eye that tells you they are seeing a whole new world. I really felt that with this family.

Where there any hurdles?

NO! Mama was relaxed, baby was calm. Everything went very smoothly for this session.

Your best photographer/session advice?

Don’t be so wrapped up in trying to pose, and create magic, that you overlook the real magical moments that are already there.

What gear was used to achieve these?

This session was shot with my Canon Mark iii and my Sigma 35mm Art.
