Is this personal work / client work ?
This is client work! This is my first engagement session for 2016, and it is for a wedding in April. It was such a good feeling to dust off the engagement session shoes and get outside to take photos of a beautiful couple.
What about this session was most memorable?
The weather! All three of us were just ecstatic that we had 70 degree weather in January. Just a few days before, there was nearly 6 inches of snow covering the ground in Nashville. I guess it’s true about the weather in the south: just wait a day and everything will change!
Where there any hurdles?
Because of the beautiful weather, there were literally hundreds of people outside at our chosen engagement location. There were couples with children, runners, and dog walkers hitting up all of the trails. I can’t say that I blame them. Luckily for us, we found a few spots that were secluded that allowed the three of us to spend some quality time together.
Your best photographer/session advice?
My advice is very simple: Have. Fun. Your work is meant to be enjoyable. Joke around, have a laugh, and take in the scenery.
What gear was used to achieve these?
Canon 5d Mark III
35mm lens, 50mm lens, and a 135mm lens.
About the photographer:
I was born and raised in Illinois and moved to the great souther state of Tennessee. I make my bed in Knoxville, but I love to travel all over East Tennessee. I consider myself a walking contradiction; a Type A personality with a creative streak, a yankee who says fix in’, and a lover of comedy who couldn’t tell a punch-line to save her soul. My days are spent making modern, simple, no-frills photographs and spending time with my husband and little girl.
