LIFE IS TOUGH, MY DARLING, BUT SO ARE YOU

My summer has flown by & it’s been filled with a whole lot of nothing, except that we’ve had some really great times with friends, and that’s what really counts.  We’ve made memories that will last a life time and friends that we never knew we were missing.   We’ve been to the beach, we’ve roasted marshmallows, we’ve been to the pool and the woods, the kids have played football & pokemon go,  and built forts in the woods and the moms have drank a little too much vodka and eaten a little too much junk… everyone has stayed up too late and played into the hours of the night that little heads should be sound asleep in their beds… but we’ve been happy.

We are faced with a choice, sometimes, to focus on the good around us or to fall under the tough times and be washed away with the tide.   My goodness, it is so important to hold on tight to the buoy and stay afloat in stormy waters – keep yourself inspired when it feels like there is nothing inspirational left to be seen, if you can’t find inspiration – create it!

I’ve been working at creating an image for myself… well, more like showing myself for who I really am, creating the images that I want to create.  I redid my website and I’ve started to put together a few sessions based on what I want to shoot.  This month  I’m going to share a session that I did this summer.  I invited a high school friend and her family to do a session “out in a field somewhere” with her husband’s guitar, her voice and her little girl dancing in the grass while she held her baby cuddled close.   I’d been imagining the session since I photographed them in their house for their newborn session a few months ago.

Here’s my inspirational creation for you…  I hope you find a little something to inspire you today.
