A client engagement session
Tell us about this session. What about this session was most memorable?
Victoria is a friend from college who is getting married to Ryan in October. We went to Kennesaw Battlefield Mountain Park because it has a beautiful, open field that’s filled with gorgeous light as the sun starts to set. There was also an area with tall grasses, which I’d been dying to use as a backdrop. The most memorable part of this session was their easygoing attitudes, their comfortableness with each other and the love radiating between them. It made the session flow so smoothly.
Where there any hurdles?
I wanted to take the couple to the top of the mountain at the start of the session, but unfortunately the shuttle had stopped running so I had to switch plans. Other than that small hiccup, there were no issues with the session.
Tell us your best photographer/session advice.
Remember to be confident. The clients are trusting you to tell them how to pose, where to look, and to put them at ease. Even if you don’t feel confident, “fake it until you make it” is definitely the way to go. Trust in yourself and your knowledge to guide the clients throughout the experience.
What gear was used to achieve these?
Canon 6D + Canon 50mm 1.8 lens
