So new year new projects.
What started out as a little group to share and blog our journey in self portraits has sparked some deep love and connections with other photographers. Getting behind the frame is so incredibly humbling and terrifying at the same time. I think most of the women in the group have truly embraced this challenge, and it has become a great source of inspiration and encouragement. There is this notion of selfies being a bad thing, that women who take them must have an ego the size of Texas, and most of us are guilty of shaming those who always put themselves first. This project goes beyond motherhood, and is aimed at trying to discover the woman + photographer we’ve lost along the millions of photos taken, and perhaps not everyone feels a little lost. Some are just trying something creative, something different. Others may be trying to make sure their children remember that they were there too. What ever the reason may be for joining this project, I think we can all agree that it is not something we’ll regret.

LOVE this amazing filled group of talented artists- I feel like all of us women are in here, pushing our boundaries, all while doing this big ‘ol group huddle supporting each other. The creativity is infectious and it’s keeping me accountable for the consistent weekly motivation!! Thanks so much for including me. XOXO
I have never felt more empowered to share myself creatively than I have in the short month I have been a part of this group. I have tried new things, and I feel comfortable pushing myself each week. I am in constant awe of the amount of pure art I see on this page on a daily basis. This group of women is so inspiring. I am so glad I had the chance to join!
So glad to have you with us.
Such beautiful images! I’m doing a personal project of getting in the frame too, and there’s so much inspiration here<3
