This was personal work for me.

Tell us a bit about the magic of summer + the connection to your lens?

Summer for me means, lots of watermelons, swimming and sunscreen, and longer days to chase the light. We live in Sugar Land TX so the heat is unreal! These images were shot with a combo of my go to 35 and 85. 35 is 90% on my camera as it allows me to get a nice wide shot, but at the same time I can get those nice up-close shots of my boys.

What about this session makes it an Epic summer session?

I have 2 boys and we make it out at least once a day to release their crazy energy. The combo of the heat, the golden sun, and of course it always helps if you have a gorgeous VW! We had such a blast shooting, this was definitely checked off my bucket list as a photographer.

What else is on your summer bucket list to photograph this summer?

I would love to get into underwater photography that is definitely on my bucket list. And there are a few places right outside of Sugar Land that I would love to just shoot, just a little change in scenery.

What gear was used to achieve these?

I have a canon 5diii and the lens that were used were my 35 & 85.

Any summer tips or photographer advice?

Take advantage of the longer days and chase the light. I am always ALWAYS evolving as a photographer, I strive for perfection, but there is so much beauty even with the mistakes, embrace it. My personal work allows me to be creative, when I have down time, I tackle one of my crazy ideas or inspirations to help me grow as a photographer. And as a mum,
even if it’s a hassle to lug that big camera around DO IT! I have gotten so many epic summer moments when I least expected them.
