Is this session personal work or client work?
Personal Work
Tell us a bit about the magic of summer + the connection to your lens?
My fondest childhood memories are of Summer. The long days, warm nights, fresh raspberries picked from the yard and endless time outdoors with my family and friends. I hope to use my camera to capture those magical Summer memories for my girls as they grow up.
What about this session makes it an Epic summer session?
This is an epic Summer session because it records time spent alone with my oldest, staying out late and playing in tide pools warmed by the sun until the sun sets and turns the sky pink (her favorite color). Salty hair, sandy everything and fond memories make for epic Summers.
What else is on your summer bucket list to photograph this summer?
I would love to try underwater and drone photography at the beach this Summer. If only both weren’t so expensive. I will probably have to settle for photographing my girls enjoying Canadian Summer when we go home to visit.
What gear was used to achieve these?
Nikon D750 and Sigma 35mm ART
Any summer tips or photographer advice?
Be really careful around sand, especially with zoom lenses. I learnt that lesson the hard way. Clean the sand off carefully with a lens brush when you get home!
