Tell us a bit about your approach to the work you do, your time in the business and a few personal facts about you.
Hi there ! I’m Michele .. I am a lifestyle and portrait photographer from Long Island NY.
I’m a pretty transparent kind of girl.. what you see is what you get.. Authenticity, humility and genuine kindness is most important in my life.. and it is how I am trying to raise my three little humans ! Who aren’t so little anymore !! My boys are 14&12 and my baby girl is 10!
As a child I was fascinated by film photography, a budding creative from an early age. I was always documenting life as I saw it. Then in 2010, while so much was changing for our family at the time, I found great comfort behind my lens, and began my business. I’m driven by emotion and I do my very best to trust my inner compass .. sometimes I get a tad of course but that’s the beautiful thing about art to me .. there is no wrong way. not for me, not for you, not for anyone.
My all time favorite quote is by
Maya Angelou :
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
That is my goal and my hope for every session I photograph..
That when my clients look back on the images I take. They don’t just see the image .. They feel the feeling..
What about this session was most memorable ?
I am always so honored when anyone welcomes me into such intimate parts of their life and trusts me to capture their life’s bliss.. such as this. This family happens to be my gorgeous niece and her beautiful family!
Were there any hurdles?
On this session there wasn’t much natural light in the room, the shade was broken and it was very dark, but the new daddy helped out, and held it up for us most of the time, and our extended family that was in the room also helped too!
Your best photographer/session advice?
For me .. when I get to my location with the family or the senior I immerse myself in the scene, I observe, I feel the feelings, I always tell my clients let’s take some time and just BE. Let the kids get comfortable, let the new mommies finish feeding their babes, let the seniors take a few selfies , with me of course 😉 then I start shooting.
What gear was used to achieve these?
I shoot canon and this was shot with the first lens I ever bought! My 50mm 1.4

I’m a light seeker, universe believer, iced coffee loving, salt water in my veins kind of girl!
Spontaneous road trips, dancing in the kitchen, and getting purposely lost with those I love the most in this big beautiful world, is what breathes life into me !
