UNTITLED

Moments in simplicity. The first thing that immediately drew me to this beautiful portrait was the subject’s poignant stare, it is powerful with its sensibility. It conveys such strength and softness all at the same time. The way her and is covering her mouth off, It’s a gesture that I am so used to, I see repeated over and over by women not wanting or feel unready to be photographed. What I know is that this image makes me want to know about her, it makes me want to figure out what story is behind those eyes. Simple beautiful moments like these matter, and we can’t wait to share this image with our attendees.

LEARN ABOUT THE FINALIST

IMG_9228.JPGKatie Brenkert of Katie Brenkert Photography is a lifestyle/documentary photographer living in Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband, 3 kids, and puppy. Her work highlights life as a stay at home mom to her crazy crew because as a hobby photographer, her family is her inspiration and her muse. Although the love for taking pictures started as a passion for documenting, it has over time, morphed into a passion to create art. Kids change every single day and the desire to tell that story is what makes Katie want to pick up her camera. Recently Katie has traveled to Haiti to use photography to help humanitarian organizations gain some momentum and through those travels, she may have just found her newest photography passion.
