Tell us a bit about your approach to the work you do, your time in the business and a few personal facts about you.
Hello there, I’m Angela and in addition to being a professional photographer for 4 years, I’m also a wife and a mother. I approach every session with the intent of capturing images that make my subjects feel something when they see them. Images that they will look at years from now and appreciate the detail and the moments. I also like to throw in some creative compositions, if I’m able! In every gallery, I’m most likely drawn to the images that may not be the most popular.
What about this session was most memorable?
This session was so dreamy, so laid back. The little girl opened up to me being there quickly and showed me her adorable personality right away. At the end of the session, the mother pulled out a hundred-year-old nightgown that had been passed down from generations and we were able to get some special images while her daughter wore it. Also, it’s worth noting that this sweet family had breakfast tacos waiting for me when I arrived so that’s pretty memorable in my book!!
Were there any hurdles?
Honestly, no. We moved around inside from room to room and then outside and back in with ease.
Your best photographer/session advice?
Go with it. Don’t rush. It’s ok to wait a moment to click the shutter to find that moment that you’re looking for.
What gear was used to achieve these?
Nikon D750 + sigma art 35 1.4
ABOUT THE ARTIST :
I’m a family lifestyle photographer based in the amazing city of Austin, Texas. I never know what to say in this space so I’ll tell you I’m an open book. I’m a goofball, I’m a lover, I can be awkward and I get nervous. But I am absolutely at home behind my camera and I’m addicted to capturing your moments and connections, not perfectly posed portraits. I overuse the exclamation point at times and I love emojis. 🙂 I’m your textbook right-brained individual, which really means I can be messy and scattered but also creative and fun. I totally own it! I’m married to the best guy and we have a wonderful son, Kingston, who is coincidentally the inspiration and catalyst behind my photography journey.
My intent with art is to capture real and honest moments that make you feel…that make you “remember when”. I want to know what means the most to you and then I want to freeze exactly that and give it back to you in a beautiful way. This is my passion.
