To my past self:

I remember how excited and yet lost you felt when you first wanted to pursue professional photography. You looked around, followed numerous photographers all over the world. You tried to figure out what style is wanted. What do other successful photographers do, and how can you be the same. You forget who you truly were. You followed the crowd and tried to fit in, thinking it will make you successful and happy. God were you wrong. You are yet to discover where your heart lies and what your biggest breakthrough will be. I love the passion, you worked endless nights with a small baby right next to you, but you followed the crowd, not your heart. Time flew by and you started to look back at your work and realized, it’s not who you are, it’s not where you want to go and its nothing you can sell to your client. Then you stopped believing in the service you offered. You woke up and started to realize what is truly important to you. Giving families real memories, they can look back and reflect on. Real moments and emotions captured in a photograph they can treasure. You realized a pretty studio portrait won’t do that for them. You set yourself a new goal, rebranded and became authentic and true to yourself. White Salt Photography was born and you never looked back.

Janine is a family and newborn lifestyle photographer, based in Melbourne Australia. She started her journey as a professional photographer in 2011, under Janine Harris Photography and rebranded to White Salt Photography in 2014 where she moved into a more natural approach. She values the moments of simplicity. She loves to capture every day, the crazy hair, the giggles, and the cries. Her style is raw, authentic and emotive. Her focus lies in capturing the essence of each family she works with. She holds on to the love and connection in a playful, organic way.
