BE INSPIRED SESSION | Feature by TraciElaine Photography

Tell us a bit about your approach to the work you do, your time in the business and a few personal facts about you.
I love to capture the vulnerability and mood of my subjects, actively seeking out the shadows as it is a perfect metaphor for this imperfect wonderful life; a bit of dark in the midst of illuminating joy. I have been shooting for a few years, having been led to it following my daughter’s birth but only took it seriously in the past year when I started my business.
What about this session was most memorable?

I generally tend to shoot later in the day closer to sunset in softer light but lately have been pushing myself to embrace shooting in full sun, stretching myself to find shade, to use dapple light and to be more creative. The sun was high in the sky during this session and we worked with it to create a wide variety of photos in one shoot.

Were there any hurdles?
As we shot this in Soho in NYC during mid-day, working around the crowds was a challenge, especially for the shots on the subway stairs, but we went with the flow.
Your best photographer/session advice?

What gear was used to achieve these?
Canon 6D along with Canon 50mm 1.2 and Canon 85 mm 1.8.
