Tell us a bit about your approach to the work you do, your time in the business and a few personal facts about you.
My approach is very self-taught, which gives it a little different feel. I am very inspired by cinema and try to make my work feel like a still from a movie.
What makes you the most nervous during a session?
For some reason, I always think my clients are going to think my ideas are too weird. I think this is because I come from a family of non-artists and my artistic approach to things has not always been appreciated, so I see that sometimes show up in my self-talk during shoots.
What about this session was most memorable?
Two things, the part where they whispered things they loved about their partner in their partner’s ear. They both had such gitty smiles on their faces when they did. Secondly, I LOVED when then spontaneously started playing footsie! Cause there is nothing more intimate than footsie!
Were there any hurdles?
These two darlings were pretty stiff at first, as most couples are, but as we got into the shoot they soon started to feel really comfortable and ended up having such a fun time.
Your best photographer/session advice?
Create an authentically comfortable environment for your client. Don’t just focus on the posing or technique, actually create an organically enjoyable experience and they will SHOW UP! I promise!
What is one goal for your business?
Get more reorganized with the bookkeeping/tax side of things. The boring stuff, haha!
What gear was used to achieve these?
Nikon D810
Sigma 50mm 1.4
Nikon TS 45mm
Any presets used or hand editing?
I used my own presets that I just finished developing, woohoo!
