What about this session was most memorable?

There were a several memorable moments. The first was how unbelievably welcoming the family was. We had not met prior to their hospital session, except for a few emails and when I walked into the hospital room they were so laid back and easy going. I knew instantly that this was going to be a great session. I also remember that Mom was just glowing and she had most amazing smile that lit up the room. Each newborn session is memorable to me for their own reasons but each one keeps a special place in my heart. It’s always such an honour to be welcomed into that intimate and special time during those first few hours/days after a family welcomes a new baby.

Where there any hurdles?

One small hurdle would be I had not been to this particular hospital prior to the session and was not aware of the street closures due to construction, the surrounding one way streets or the parking set up for the hospital.

Your best photographer/session advice?

For Fresh 48 sessions, I recommend prepping the families with how the session will flow and what the look and feel of the images will be. I work at mom and baby’s pace and work around and include feedings & nurse/Dr visits. Prepare yourself mentally for any lighting situations as well room configurations so you will have an idea on how you can move around the room and use the best available light.
